Newborn
Dr. Dana will start the care of your child once they are born. If you are having your child at Madison County Hospital, let your OB doctor and your nurses at the hospital know upon your admission so she can be contacted.
If you are having your child at another hospital or at home, she would like to see your baby in the first 3-5 days after they are born. It is best to call during your hospital stay so your appointment is made before you even go home.
Breastfeeding babies Dr. Dana would like to see closer to three days to make sure your milk is in and the baby is transitioning well. Formula fed babies, closer to five days to make sure they are tolerating the formula and gaining weight.
